SURREY – In their first visit to the brand new North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex, the Abbotsford Pilots (4-2-0-0) managed to snap a two game losing skid Thursday night by a score of 1-0 over the Surrey Knights (0-7-0-1). In his first appearance since being acquired by Abbotsford via trade on September 18th, goaltender Noah Masog recorded his first win as a Pilot stopping all 34 shots in the process. Knights goaltender Naveen Kainth put up an admirable performance, putting aside 31 of 32 shots and being named 2nd Star honours. This was Kainth’s 8th straight appearance in as many games for his club to start the season.

The lone Pilots goal, and the lone goal of the entire game, came from rookie Mitchell Metcalfe (1) at 9:01, assisted by Reid Dunham and Hunter Brown. Metcalfe, who is a product of Chilliwack Minor Hockey, scores his first PJHL goal and is one of 12 rookies on this season’s Pilots roster.
