Submnitted. The Brent Ellis Group will be playing their funky Jazz fusion at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium on Saturday June 9.

Show starts at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $10, and are available at King’s Music, 2669 Langdon St, Abbotsford, as well as available at the door. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
The evening will feature drummer Mike Michalkow playing his Super Kit. Mike’s creative and musical drum solos will be showcased on many songs. A new song entitled ‘Pepperoni and Mushrooms’ will be one of the unique original jam tunes of the show. It is actually about 4 songs that morph from one to another, and is almost entirely improvised. There is no preconceived written melody, chord progression, tempo or groove. The entire song is created live by the band as you listen to it. Very fun stuff indeed !! Several other will New Unrecorded Original Songs be performed as well.
Also on the set list are the fan favourites ‘Amazon Funk’, ‘Up a Notch’, ‘Hands of Time’, and ’101 Eastbound’. The night will include some fresh Jazz standards, some sweet chord melodies by Brent alone on his vintage Gibson guitar, some duo blues guitar with Mike Ellis, some melodic guitar synth solos, tasty piano grooves and solos by Nathan Bosch, and some funky bass lines by Robin Ellis.
The exciting part about this concert is that it will be recorded on multiple HD cameras, and recorded to multitrack for later release as a live CD and concert DVD.
Three different full color posters available for sale at the concert. Only $2 each. CDs are $10 each at the concert. ‘Summertime’ or ‘Cruisin’ Jackson Road’ CDs.
This is NOT your average coffee shop concert, as the band will be bringing most, if not all their best instruments and gear. The concert will feature new original tunes being performed for the very first time. The energy and sounds from the stage will be inspiring for both the band and the audience. The auditorium boasts comfortable seating and good acoustics. This will be the Brent Ellis Group concert to attend. We hope to see you there.
