Submitted. Take a walk on the wild side. The Central Fraser Valley Graphic Guild’s new group show at Abbotsford’s Kariton Gallery May 13-June 8 is inspired by the theme “On the Wild Side”. [Click On Image For Full Story]

Kariton Gallery was just painted a bright red and this is the first show in the newly painted gallery! For this show, the Graphic Guild artists worked as a kind of team, but alone, each in their own studio, thinking up wild and crazy stuff as to what to paint, while the other artists were sitting in their studios doing the same thing.

Just how wild will this show be? The wild side of art may be the untamed, unruly or undisciplined, but rest assured visitors to the gallery will be perfectly safe. However, in the case of abstract art, how wild is your own imagination? At least one piece is already generating some controversy even before the show! But really, a lot of art is about joy, about making something that’s so full of wild joy that you really can’t put into words. You just have to come and see for yourself! The reception is on May 15 between 1-4pm.

Some of the artists in this show are Melodie Douglas, Neil Loewen, Bente Hansen, Carol Portree, Ursula Rettich, Barbara Skorupa, Carrie Wachsmann, Lora Armbruster, Helen Janas, Andrea Chapman, Rita Carrington and Connie Wicklund.

This show is from May 13th. – June 8th. 2011
