ABBOTSFORD BC, May 6, 2019: Prospera Credit Union announced today that President and CEO Shawn Good has resigned from his position effective May 31, 2019. Diane Dou, Chief Operating Officer, will be stepping into the role of interim President and Chief Executive Officer effective June 1, 2019.

“The Board is pleased that Diane has agreed to serve in this role on an interim basis,” said Eric Nadin, Chair of Prospera’s Board of Directors. “Her experience and leadership skills will be an asset to Prospera as we look to the future.”

“We are grateful for Shawn Good’s years of excellent leadership,” said Nadin. “Shawn has led Prospera as its President and CEO since 2015 and his dynamic leadership, strategic vision and dedication to helping Prospera’s members thrive are unmatched. Under his leadership, Prospera developed its long-term strategy centred on everyday families and local business and was first to market in Canada with numerous innovations all of which focused on making a meaningful difference in the financial well-being of our members.  Prospera also became a Certified Great Place to Work™ three years in a row and was placed on the national Best Places to Work™ in Financial Services and Insurance list in 2018. We wish him the best in his next chapter.”

Diane Dou joined Prospera as Chief Operating Officer in June 2016, and has more than 16 years of financial industry experience in a variety of leadership roles including COO and Country Head of Business Performance for Retail and Wealth Management at HSBC Canada. An innovative and courageous senior business leader, Diane has had many successes at Prospera to date. She was instrumental in executing Prospera’s Enterprise Business Owner Strategy and introduced an innovative new branching structure. Diane has a strong skillset in overall business management and operations, including steering business strategy and execution, overseeing corporate governance and driving transformation initiatives. These skills will ensure a smooth transition and continued success for Prospera and its members moving forward.
