Music: Check Out Abbotsford’s ‘Horizon’

Consisting of six versatile and entertaining musicians all from the Fraser Valley, Horizon brings together a whole variety of musical backgrounds and styles.

Rick Noel, JP Worst, Crystal Hicks, Warren Grosland - Horizon (absent Freddie Schmidt)

Featuring lead guitar master Warren Grosland, the inimitable JP Worst on acoustic jazz and funky electric bass, on saxophone Freddie Schmidt, on drums the immovable meter man himself Rick Noel. Rounding off on keyboards and harmony vocals the versatile Asger Hansen and finally our very own diva phenomenon herself, Crystal Hicks, who has been compared to the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James.

With a plethora of musical styles including swing, blues, rock’n soul, R&B with some latin, country and classic old time rock n’ roll to top it all off.

Mike spent 20 years in the newspaper business as a journalist, editor, sales manager and publisher before moving into public relations and business consulting. In 2008 he became founding editor of the Abbotsford Post and he is co-owner of Today Media Group. Mike graduated from the University of Alberta in 1970 with a BA in Political Science and Economics and has since pursued graduate studies in both Federalism and Journalism. He has a Diploma in Web Design from Academy of Learning.
