Business Feature: Brent Ellis’ LS Records Offers Full Recording Studio Experience

LS Records is a part time project studio located in east Abbotsford. Brent Ellis has been helping local talent do CD demos and CD projects since 1991. He uses SAWSTUDIO for recording, editing, mixing and mastering.

Brent and his band, The Brent Ellis Group, are a jazz fusion band that have performed in Abbotsford at The House of James.

Brent can assist you with your music production, whether you want a quick CD demo with simple graphics, or a CD and graphics ready for the manufacturing plant. Brent’s studio experience includes projects with diversified musical styles but his head and heart is mostly into Jazz.

LS Records Studio Services Include:

KEEP ALL YOUR TAKES
Record your song by layering the various instruments, and vocals (MIDI and audio), to build your tune. Keep all of your takes for later editing. If needed, use our extensive MIDI sound library, and / or live musicians to complete your composition.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE EDITING
For the audio tracks, all editing and effects are non-destructive This means you are free to edit and apply processing to your music while leaving the original recording intact. Merge your best takes into a finished track if needed. Feel free to edit to correct timing, pitch, volume, tone and more, of your MIDI and audio tracks.

FULLY AUTOMATED MIXING
Enjoy virtual automated mixing of 36 stereo digital tracks, each with quality digital effects. Adjust the volume, panning, and effects for each track to build the final mix. Create a CD backup track for you to perform with live, if needed. If you are looking to have an existing recording mixed and mastered onto CD just bring Brent your tracks and he should be able to assist you.

24bit DIGITAL MASTERING
Have your final mix benefit from Brent’s 24 bit hardware and mastering software. Your master CD can then be sent to a manufacturing plant for CD duplication orders of 300 or more. If only a limited number are needed, he can burn CD demos in house.

CD GRAPHICS DESIGN
Brent can design the graphics for you, and depending on your needs, you can choose between high-res demo CD graphics and demo CD-Rs produced in house,
or full color retail ready CDs (complete with UPC code) direct from the plant.

DIGITAL 2 TRACK FIELD RECORDING
Some bands just want a quick and simple live 2 track recording of when they are performing. Brent can record your band easily and then master your CD. This is best if you’re looking for a demo CD and have a limited budget.

MOBILE RECORDING FOR BANDS
Brent has a portable 16 track digital multitrack workstation for recording live bands or ensembles at performances or rehearsal halls. If your band is well rehearsed and ready to record all at once live to multitrack, Brent can capture it for you.
